Cardiac Science – Year 3
St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
I joined the STP, with a specialism in Cardiac Sciences, to allow me to combine my passion for cardiac sciences and my love for healthcare. The NHS cares for people at their most vulnerable, offering compassion when it is needed the most. I love that I am able to use my knowledge of cardiac sciences and scientific skills to directly impact patient care, providing the empathy to support patients in their most difficult times.

Cardiac Science – Year 2
St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
I chose Cardiac Science because it combines both technical and scientific thinking with a high proportion of patient facing care. We also work in a large multi-disciplinary team, this is great as you meet lots of people from many different backgrounds and it feels really rewarding to share knowledge to provide the best patient care.

Histocompatibility & Immunogenetics – Year 2
Barts Health Trust
I chose H&I because I want to gain specialist genetic and immunological knowledge and be able to apply this to take a lead in the consultation of patients with complex autoimmune diseases or requiring transplantation. The variety of scientific skills within the role of a H&I Clinical Scientist and the scope for improving patient experience and clinical outcomes inspires me.
